It’s a long quest and a process of building. You need to build your repertoire, your personality… to try to learn who you are as an artist. That all takes time. Search inside yourself, as most of what you have to say is already inside you from very early on.
The closest thing to perfect happiness is the knowledge that you are holding the audience rapt during a performance, particularly in a highly expressive slow movement where the silence is almost audible behind the notes.
Working with living composers is a constantly fascinating and engaging process.
In general, I am looking for ways of creating satisfying continuity out of asymmetrical material in both pitch and time. Sometimes I am also very interested in blending colours .
