When you’re starting out as a young singer it can quite often feel like your voice is calling the shots
Quite simply, playing an instrument, the cello, demands a lifetime commitment if you want to make it to the stage. Young musicians should take that into account. I practice every day and that is rewarding in itself, but my music should be social before it is technical.
My music is not classified as “classical” or “pop” music but a hybrid of both. It has the accessibility, logic and shortness of pop music, and the philosophy, emotion and depth of the classical genre.
Who or what inspired you to take up the piano and pursue a career in music? For me this is a not an easy question,
Life is full of challenges. I think there are generally a lot of misconceptions about classical musicians. People often ask “You have a concert today, so the rest of the day you must be free?” They don’t realize that with every concert come hours and hours of practicing and rehearsing. Of course, as musicians we take the things that come with it. Playing an instrument until you reach a certain level of mastery requires a lot of practice. We all go through ups and downs and the hard work is not always fun. But in the end it’s the music that wins. And when we are on stage we forget everything else.
