Interviews with musicians, composers and conductors
“I took up piano as a hobby after my grandmother asked if I’d be interested in learning it. Growing up on a farm in southern Tasmania meant there wasn’t much else to do, so I said yes.”
I believe that if a piece of music resonates with someone and provides comfort or a sense of connection, then it has succeeded
If you can reach one person’s soul with the music you write….it doesn’t get better than that.
We must never lose our sense of wonder and curiosity about music
I see composition as a form of storytelling. I draw on places, people, memories, literature, and artworks as sources for my music.
