Don’t get stuck in the practice room all day. Go out and connect with people, talk to everybody, socialize, collaborate, and be inspired. Strive for your goal and dream, but also be realistic, and open to options.
I try not to think of what I’m best at, rather I try to consider it all as a journey and coming into trusting my instincts and connecting more with an audience.
Success for me is to be able to capture an audience, to be able to achieve mastery in your technical skills so that they serve the respective piece of music best.
I feel every single performance, especially live, is uniquely special, and for very different reasons. There are no words to fully express that distinct moment, baring one’s soul, and the accompanying vulnerability, fragility even…
Keep trying out different styles of playing and play with lots of different types of musicians, as you don’t know what might shape you, or who you might meet and what opportunity that might later present you with.
