I’m not a structured composer, and I never had any proper schooling in it. Instead I see it as an extension of my playing and a tool for developing my playing.
The highpoint of being a conductor is that you get to do what so few people do – it’s like having all of Tutankhamun’s treasures.
Make music for the art of it, perform it from the heart, use it as a way of self-expression, and always use it to touch people. If these are your goals as a musician, you will always make beautiful and meaningful music.
Tango is so expressive and you need a certain vulnerability to express the deeply felt emotions, as well as telling the stories
Sing as much as you want, for the audience, live, share your art with the audience, with your colleagues, create and never stop searching for the means of expressing yourself.
