As a minimalist, I don’t have many possessions, other than my instruments. I was gifted with an Arnold Dolmetsch harpsichord earlier this year. I believe this tops my list of special instruments.
Who or what inspired you to take up piano, and pursue a career in music? My mother’s old upright piano was placed in my childhood
Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in music? Definitely my wondrous Ma and Pa, both of whom were rocking classical violinists! I
I believe the role of a musician is in many ways akin to an interpreter. The piano is a monumental instrument, as Kathryn Stott once mentioned to me, and we are blessed with the ever growing huge canon of repertoire – solo, concerto and chamber.
