For me, a venue is as much about the unique chemistry of each audience as it is the fabric of the building. That said, it would of course be churlish not to mention the Wigmore Hall as its acoustic somehow allows for both intimacy and grandeur. Other UK venues that I have enjoyed performing in recently include Conway Hall and St George’s Bristol.
As one of the new faces in the industry, what inspired you to pursue a career in music? A lot of things inspired me to
Success is being able to touch what you like and have a faithful audience. In fact, success is not what you do, but what you did.
I love collaboration – when it works, it’s a wonderful feeling. I love the combination of ideas and opinions that result in a score you may otherwise never have written, work that is more than the sum of its parts. Of course, it can come with challenges, when you know the music isn’t quite working, or you don’t see eye to eye with your director or producer, but in my experience at least, it does seem generally to work well in the end.
