Who or what inspired you to take up singing and pursue a career in music? My father was a jazz musician, and a massive jazz
I think challenge is on how to introduce classical music in a modern society. I always try to promote classical music in different contemporary ways to attract more people to enjoy this art form.
Don’t just do music!
Have other serious interests – take risks – don’t follow the path you think you should but the one you want (it’s the one you’ll take more seriously) – be able to talk to all sorts of people – listen and learn.
Life becomes much brighter and more colourful when one lets music into their heart and I feel so lucky to be a musician to let these wonderful miracles happen.
As a soloist, performing Ligeti for 100 school kids in the Queen Elizabeth Hall for the London Sinfonietta was particularly rewarding – it was the best (and noisiest) cheer I’ve ever received!
